Old Myatt Street Location

The Help Center was opened in the late 1960s at the old Buttery Building in Burns. In 1972 it was moved to West 5th Street until its closing in 1976 due to the condition of the building. In December 1978, the Center was reactivated with new officers. Mrs. Rial began operating the Center from her home with food being stored at the War Memorial Building. In April 1998, the Thrift Store was opened to help generate funds and provide affordable shopping for the community. The property on Main Street was purchased and the Help Center remained there until 1999.With the success of the Thrift Store, by early spring of 1999, the board decided to relocate. Land was purchased, buildings were built and the new facility on Myatt Street was open for business in August 1999.

In December of 2011, we purchased the former General Insurance Building in the heart of downtown Dickson. On February 15, 2012, we moved into our new location with our Thrift Store having DOUBLE the space! We changed the food bank to a “Client Choice” food bank, which empowers our clients to choose the foods that they want for their family.
